Meet Mitch, your Ward B candidate

Farmer. Roofer. Sixth-generation Muskoka.

My family has been in Watt Township since the 1860s, among the first settlers to take up free grant land here. Generations later, we are still on the same ground. I farm, and I run a roofing business.

Last year my son was born. I want him to have the same choice my ancestors had: to make a living on this land and to stay.

That choice is getting harder. Muskoka Lakes is one of the best-known destinations in the country. That is worth protecting. But a place that only works in July isn’t a community, it’s a season.

My platform is about making this township work all twelve months, for the people who live here year-round and for the people who love coming here.

I want my son to have the same choice my family had: to stay.
